U25 Deutschland – Peer-to-Peer Suicide Prevention for Youth- Website
UX/UI Design for Youth Peer Support – U25 Deutschland
Challenge:
Young people under 25 experiencing suicidal thoughts often lack accessible, safe, and confidential support platforms. Existing mental health services can feel intimidating or impersonal, making it difficult for youth to reach out in critical moments. The project’s goal was to design a digital platform tailored to their needs: a peer-to-peer support system that is intuitive, empathetic, and highly secure.
Objective:
Create an intuitive, user-centered platform that allows young people to easily seek help, communicate anonymously with trained peers, and access support without barriers. The interface should combine simplicity, emotional reassurance, and functional clarity to meet the sensitive needs of the target group.
Solution:
Based on an analysis of the needs of youth in crisis, a clear and structured UI design was developed. Features include anonymous account setup, guided email communication with peers, and organized support resources. A minimal, calming visual design helps reduce stress, while modular workflows ensure users can navigate quickly and safely. Additional features such as FAQs, volunteer information, and secure messaging enhance trust and usability beyond basic support.
Result:
The project demonstrates how UX/UI design can be applied to critical social services. U25 Deutschland provides young people with a safe, accessible, and responsive platform, enabling anonymous peer support and extending the reach of mental health resources to a vulnerable and hard-to-reach population.
