He was born in 1971 in Tehran, Iran.
In 1999, he earned his Master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Tehran University of Art.
Since 2000, he has served as a lecturer in design at several institutions, including the Tehran University of Art, Iran University of Science and Technology, Alzahra University, and Pars University.
Beginning in 2005, he focused his work on lighting and luminaire design. Together with Shekoofeh Mirzarazi, he co‑founded MEHA Design, initially a technical design center specializing in lighting projects. Over time, the company expanded into furniture design as well.
They also established Tehran Movement to promote professional design activities in Iran. Through Tehran Movement, he leads workshops and offers consultancy, assisting young designers in navigating the Iranian design market.
His first short novel, The Queen, won the WOW Prize in 2007. WOW is an independent award recognizing exceptional originality in books.
In 2012, he received the Design Book of the Year award for his work Industrial Design: A Call for Change, a book on design theory.
In 2014, his book The Meaning of Form also won the Design Book of the Year award.
He is currently the head of the Master’s Program in Architecture and Light at Pars University.
