A New Chapter in the World of Art

Overview:
Jee Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the heart of Tehran, Iran. Housed in a repurposed 125 m² residential building, it serves as a cultural hub for artists and art enthusiasts. The gallery features a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, digital arts, conceptual pieces, and handicrafts, and offers a virtual tour for remote visitors.

Objective:
To create a multi-functional cultural venue that bridges the gap between traditional architecture and modern art practices, providing a platform for both emerging and established artists.

Solution:
Architects Alborz Nazari and Amin Hosseinirad transformed the original house into a dynamic gallery space. The design integrates a basement and ground floor gallery, a mid-level art shop, a café with a terrace, and administrative areas, all connected through a central light shaft. The façade features a translucent curtain wall inspired by traditional latticework, maintaining visual continuity with the urban context.

Result:
Jee Gallery has become a significant addition to Tehran’s art district, offering a unique blend of architectural innovation and artistic expression. Its thoughtful design fosters a seamless interaction between the public and the art, creating a space where architecture and art coexist harmoniously.
